The Harper
This quintessential mountain home nestled on 7 acres in Cashiers North Carolina, offers both year round living or a fair weather escape. The renovation of this 4 bedroom, 4.5 bathroom home was expertly crafted to preserve the well established home within the gardens and surrounding property. This included a unique stand alone structure, which is a perfect spot for hiding away or gathering for game night.
Sarah Kowalski of J Banks Design envisioned a high impact table tennis as the centerpiece for this newly minted retreat. Sarah’s inspiration images included a large scale custom wallpaper to be front and center on the playfield and large scale geometric shapes captivated the imagination for the base of the table tennis.

The Milieu 1928 team got to work designing a totally custom table tennis later named Harper, which was scaled to sit perfectly in the space.
Harper is finished in eye-catching black walnut and a saturated ochre lacquer, fulfilling the impactful design Sarah was looking for.
